Prof Dhanjay Jhurry gained his PhD in Polymer Chemistry in 1992 from Bordeaux-1 University. After spending three years at Flamel Technologies Co. in Lyon, he joined the Dept of Chemistry, UoM as Lecturer in 1995 and was appointed Professor in 2005.

He was awarded the first Best Mauritian Scientist Award in 2011. He is currently a National Research Chair in Biomaterials and Drug Delivery under the Mauritius Research Council and heads CBBR.

Dr Archana Bhaw-Luximon has a PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Mauritius (UoM, 2001). She joined the Dept of Chemistry, UoM in 2003 and is currently Associate Professor.

She was appointed as a TWAS Young Affiliate in 2008 and selected by the New York Academy of Sciences as Outstanding Young Scientist for 'Lights and Shadows of Science and Technology', STS, Japan in 2014. The Royal Society selected her as Outstanding Young Scientist for the first Commonwealth Science Conference, 2014.

Prof Theeshan Bahorun studied at Lille – I University and UTC (Compiègne) France. His PhD (1995) is in the field of Plant Biotechnology. He joined the Dept of Biosciences, UoM as Lecturer in 1996 and was appointed Professor in 2008. He is currently a National Research Chair in Biochemistry appointed by TEC.

Dr Vidushi Neergheen-Bhujun obtained her PhD in Applied Biochemistry from University of Mauritius in 2008. She then joined the Department of Health Sciences, UoM as lecturer in 2009.
