1. Associate Professor (Dr) Mohammad Issack SANTALLY
|Dr Santally is Associate Professor in Education Technology and has served as Officer-in-Charge of the VCILT since 2009. He is a Senior Academic with international experience in eLearning, Education Technology and Open and Online Education. He is an established consultant with international organisations like Small States Network for Economic Development (SSNED), the Commonwealth of Learning, the SADC Secretariat, the COMESA Secretariat and the Global e-Schools and Communities Initiative (GESCI). He led the Mauritius team on the EU-ACP project SIDECAP in collaboration with the Open University UK, University of South Pacific, University of West Indies and the Highlands Millenium Institute of Scotland.||
2. Mrs Dorothy COOSHNA-NAIK, Senior Lecturer
Dorothy Cooshna-Naik joined the VCILT in 2001 just after the establishment of the Centre. She is currently Senior Lecturer in the field of Visual Communication and she has contributed significantly in the development of the Centre over the past decade. She teaches on the online Educational Technologies and the Web and Multimedia programmes of studies. She has particular interest in the development of multimedia educational materials. She worked on the MRC project to develop an interactive CDROM for primary school children in Science and Geography and she worked as Investigator in the SIDECAP Project. She is currently a PhD candidate registered with the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal of South Africa.
3. Mr Goonesh BAHADUR, Senior Lecturer
Bahadur Goonesh Kumar has been working with the Department of Textile Technology at the University of Mauritius since 2001 and has been involved in teaching students enrolled for the BSc (Hons) Textile and Fashion Design and BSc (Hons) Fashion Technology Programmes. He is currently doing his MPhil/ PhD studies on a part time basis at the University of Mauritius. Mr Bahadur is a member of different committees both at the university and the national level. He has also participated in numerous conferences worldwide and has several research papers published in international journals related to textiles, fashion, educational technology and e-learning.
4. Mrs Sandhya GUNNESS, Lecturer
Sandhya currently teaches at the University of Mauritius on the BSc & MSc Edtech programmes namely for the modules on Open Educational Resources, Leadership and Technology management; Social Networking; Principles of learning design. Her interests cover e-learning Pedagogical strategies, Open Educational Practices and Human Performance Improvement. She has coordinated several international collaborative projects with COL, SADC, COMESA and under the EDU-LINK EU-funded projects. An OLnet fellow, she is conducting research in the area of Open Educational Practices and how these can transform teaching.
5. Mr Abdool MOHABUTH, Project Coordinator (Work-based Learning)
Mr Mohabuth joined the University as Lecturer in the Computer Science and Engineering Department. He is presently posted in CILL as the Project Coordinator for the Work-Based Learning Programme. He led the setting up and management of the WBL Programme across the University and he acts as an Educational Auditor for Work Placement.
